Troncones/Getting here
On warm, moonlit nights we still see endangered sea turtles laying their eggs on our beaches. Flocks of pelicans search the waters for lunch and pods of dolphins and whales cruise up (or down, depending on the season) the coastline.
There are frequent activities held in the village at which you’ll be more than welcomed. There are soccer and basketball games, weddings and Quinceañeras (a girl’s 15th birthday), fundraisers (Kermes in Spanish) and they are held usually on Saturday nights at the basketball court or soccer field. Most of these events are publicized at the last minute, so do read any flyer you see…..the event could be in a few hours.
Zihuatanejo
A visit will be good for your soul. It is a soulful, pre-colonial, beautiful historic town with much to see and many smiling faces. A bustling fishing town with much to offer tourists, she also entertains the beach party crowd, complete with parasailing, on the beautiful La Ropa Beach.
Ixtapa
A world class resort, Zihuatanejo’s “twin” sister could not be more different! Dancing until dawn in the clubs and discos, dining on food with an international flair, or shopping at the fabulous boutiques will quench your thirst for sophistication. Ixtapa is also home to two world class golf courses.
